These stars are an opportunity to explore lines. Fill each star with thick and thin marks!
Here’s how:
- Thick and thin black Sharpie pens.
- Drawing paper with a large traced star—big cookie cutters are great for tracing.
- Draw thick and thin lines to cover the entire surface of the star.
This blue star has a starburst at its center. Paint it a rich blue the color of the winter sky.
Here’s how:
- Paint a wooden craft star ornament blue with a thick coat of acrylic. Let it dry thoroughly.
- Use a. white paint pen to draw the eight tipped star in its center.
- Use a jute twine for hanging.
This star is likely familiar to all! I have such fond memories of this Popcycle-stick-star from childhood, motherhood, and my days as a teacher!
Here’s how:
- Hot glue three Popcycle sticks into a star shape.
- Paint the star with a thick coat of acrylic a color of your choosing.
- Paint a thin layer of white glue and immediately sprinkle with a bit of glitter. shake excess. Let dry.
- Drill a tiny hole to string a cord for hanging.
Of course for this angelic project, the star is, well, the star of the show donning a hefty coat of glitter.
Here’s how:
- Draw wings on water color paper.
- Wash one side of the wings with a light blue watercolor, sprinkle with salt, let dry and brush the salt away. What’s left is a lovely texture like the sea.
- on the other side draw some squares, differing in size, of course. This is is inspired by Paul Klee. Mix three different blues then paint each each square.
- Use a hot glue gun to prepare the angel body. Paint the star with white glue and immediately cover with glitter, shake to remove excess.
- When the wings are dry, hot glue the angel body to the wings.
