Description
“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart,” demands poet William Wordsworth.
Challenge accepted.
Blackbird & Company student writers, ranging from elementary to high school, fill these pages with the breathings of their heart.
Great writing begins with an idea shooting above our head like coruscating stars spilling possibility. Great writing is sparked by curiosity. Ideas do not swell forth like cogs in a mechanical endeavor.
We are very proud of the students published in this first volume of Reveal, and hope you will smile remembering that the words you read were brought to shape courageously.
“If you know how much work went into it you wouldn’t call it genius.” So said Michaelangelo.
I’m grateful for the teachers—Clare Bonn, Lori May. Taylor Bredberg, and Julia LaMonte—who inspired the terrific work we are publishing, and, of course, for the students who actually pressed into the work of making art with words.
Congratulations!
